This Summer (2012), we have just 1 level in place of all our regular levels. The class description is as follows.

Summer “BVB” is a competitive/intermediate level game. This is not an introductory level for an inexperienced player. You must be registered for the class and must be qualified in order to play. Unlike the rest of the year, summer BVB teams are not formed randomly. Teams will be constructed after the 1st game at the instructor’s discretion. Depending on attendance and demand, this could mean 6 vs. 6 on 1 court and 2 vs. 2 on the other. Teams might also be formed so that there is an upper level court and a lower level court or 4 even leveled teams switching at the half way mark. Instructor approval is required.

  • AAVB

Official description: "AA" is the highest level of volleyball available through our program. Players are expected to be able to participate in a level equivalent to a Yankee Men's C game. Most teams run a 5-1 offense and have dedicated middle blockers. At a minimum, women should be recently rated at C+ and men should be rated at C. You must be registered for the class and must be qualified in order to play. Instructor approval is required.

Bottom Line: You can hit a BIC with little notice. You can set in a 5-1 where the other 5 players are men's Yankee Cs and not get killed by them.

Instructor approval is required.

Bottom Line: You are interested in mastering the 5-1. You are open to strict reffing which might halt gameplay. You can hit the ball from any position reliably and can pass the ball reliably to the correct position.

  • BVB

Official description: "B" is a competitive/intermediate level game. Players are expected to be able to play a 4-2 offense. Players are also expected to play 3-hit ball. This is not an introductory level for an inexperienced player. You must be registered for the class and must be qualified in order to play. Instructor approval is required.

Bottom line: You are not a newbie. You can bump, pass and hit the ball reliably. You play a 3 hit game and are willing to be reffed. You know how to switch in the front row and why that's sometimes a good idea.
